WHY ME?

In South Africa is you are a black person and have had the opportunity to go to a privilaged(white) school and you are now able to speak english better than the average black joe, you are most likely to be termed a coconut.

I happen to be one of these people who have been, on a few occasions, called by this name. Most of the time the reason i'm coined this is because i have friends who speak different languages to me(south africa has 11 official languages) and thus we have to use english to communicate.

Imagine a Venda person and a Xhosa person trying to conversate, both speaking their own language. That would be a recipe for nothing more than chaos. I'm really amazed by these people who try to degrade us by giving us such terms because I know by knowing english i'm better prepared for the world coz believe it or not English is the medium of communication in the work place in south africa and around the world.

So i'd like all you ignant idiots to stop calling us these terms coz at the end of the day i'm better prepared for the world and you will not go anywhere with that type of attitude. All you do is you'll continue the circle of porverty which is ruining our country. So until you have something positive to say. SHUT THE FUCK UP!
